Types of Participle Adjectives:

  1. Present Participles (ending in -ing): Describe the cause of the emotion or the characteristic.
  2. Past Participles (ending in -ed): Describe the feeling or state resulting from an action.

Examples:

  1. Present Participles (-ing):
    • Boring: "This movie is boring." 
    • Exciting: "The game was exciting." 
  2. Past Participles (-ed):
    • Bored: "I am bored." 
    • Excited: "She was excited about the trip." 

Usage Tips:

  • -ing: Describes the thing that causes the feeling or has the characteristic.
    • "The lecture is interesting." 
  • -ed: Describes how someone feels as a result of the action.
    • "He is interested in the lecture."
