About IUBH School of Business and Management

The IUBH School of Business and Management is one of Germany's leading private universities. We prepare students for international careers in service management at three campuses: Bad Honnef, Bad Reichenhall and Berlin.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Undergraduate Programmes

1. Pathway Programme

  • Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • Academic IELTS of 5.0/ TOEFL IBT 64 points/ PTE 46 (36 in each component)

2. Bachelor’s Programmes

  • Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate with scores in the top 30% of your academic year
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/ TOEFL IBT 80 points/PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

Postgraduate Programmes

1. PreMaster

The entry criteria for our Pre-Master programme are identical to the entry criteria for our regular Master’s programmes. The Pre-Master programme can be applied for in addition to a regular Master’s programme.

2. Master’s Programmes · 2 semesters (60 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years – 240 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s/business degree
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

3. Master’s Programmes · 4 semesters (120 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (3 years – 180 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s/business degree
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

4. Master’s Programme for Non-Business Graduates · 5 semesters (120 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (3 years – 180 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s degree
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

5. Master Programme for Non-Business Graduates · 3 semesters (60 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (210 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s degree
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

6. MBA International Business · 2 semesters (60 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (210 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 4 years of practical work experience in management related field (full-time, internships are not considered)
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

7. MBA International Business · 3 semesters (90 ECTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree (3 years – 180 ECTS)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 according to the German grading system in your Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of practical work experience in management related field (full-time, internships are not considered)
  • Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

Proof of Sufficient English Language Skills

IUBH accepts a wide range of English tests:

  • TOEFL IBT
  • academic IELTS
  • Pearson (PTE)
  • Cambridge BEC

Required Level of English

  • Pathway Programme: Academic IELTS of 5.0/ TOEFL IBT 64 points/ PTE 46 (36 in each component)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Programmes: Academic IELTS 6.0/TOEFL IBT 80 points/ PTE 56 points (51 points in each component)

Language Courses

If you do not have the required English Language Proficiency, you can attend our language courses starting from 5.5 IELTS level for Bachelor’s and Master's courses.

Language exemption

If you do not have an IELTS score or other proof of English proficiency, you can apply for a language exemption by filling-in our Waiver Application Form when at least one of the following points applies:

  • English is your native language
  • You graduated from an English-speaking school/university
  • You have an English medium International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)
  • The official language in your country is English

If you are applying for a bachelor or master programme, this information will help you to do it correctly.

  3. Receive acceptance form & transfer deposit to reserve study place
  4. Receive offer letter & tuition contract
  5. Apply for visa
  6. Receive confirmation of enrolment in the IUBH

1. Check admission requirements

The entry requirements to enter the IUBH vary depending on your previous education and the programme you are interested in.

2. Send application to the IUBH (electronically)

The first step towards your admission is to fill in the application form.

Please be sure to upload all of the documents listed below:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
  • Personal statement* (maximum 800 words, 1-2 pages, paper format DIN A4)
  • 1 passport photograph
  • Copies of your school leaving certificate + transcript of academic records
  • Copy of TOEFL/IELTS/CEFR/Pearson (PTE) score report   
  • Copy of your passport   

* Personal statement: We welcome students who reflect our values: academic excellence, international orientation and high commitment to personal goals and achievements. Please write approximately 1 ½ page (maximum 800 words) about

  • yourself
  • your personal goals
  • why you have chosen the IUBH

After submitting your application, we will check if you fulfil the entry requirements and will contact you within two weeks.

3. Receive acceptance form & transfer deposit to reserve study place

If you fulfil the requirements, you will receive an acceptance form. You must sign the acceptance form and pay a deposit to the university’s bank account via www.iubh.flywire.com.

This deposit is mentioned in the acceptance form and will be deducted from your tuition fees.

4. University's offer letter & tuition contract

After paying the deposit, you will receive the university's offer letter and your tuition contract documents. You will need both for your visa application.

Please sign the contract and return it to IUBH via email as soon as possible.

5. Visa application for Non-EU applicants and information on Blocked Account.

6. Receive counter signed tuition contract

Once we have received your signed tuition contract we will send you a counter signed copy, the orientation information and the invoices for the remaining fees.
