SAT Scholastic Assessment Test

SAT is a test for measuring high school students' reading, writing, and mathematics levels.

The non-profit College Board created the test, and it aims to measure the potentials of students with different backgrounds studying in different schools.

The content of the SAT exam was changed in 2016. It is currently called NSAT. It is used in the same lane with the SAT AVT test. Both tests are valid for universities in America. Universities purchase according to the results of this exam. The ACT exam is not on talent, unlike the SAT exam. This exam focuses on the information students acquire at school.

The SAT test is evaluated in three main areas and one essay subject.

-  Students who take the reading exam are expected to answer questions about the passages they read. The questions are prepared as multiple choice. It also contains information from the passage. Some questions, tables, graphs, and figures are included. However, it does not require any math skills. This part takes 65 minutes.

-  Writing and language: Students must read the passages and detect errors and correct them. Being able to perceive weak points in language use is decisive. This part of the test takes 35 minutes.

-  Mathematics: It aims to the math questions that the students should use in daily life and at the university. It includes fields of algebra, data analysis, complex equations, basic trigonometry, and geometry. Calculator usage is allowed. This section takes a total of 80 minutes.

-  Essay: This section contains a passage. It is necessary to read and interpret this passage. The student is asked to defend his argument with evidence in the passage. This section is a total of 50 minutes.

With the change of the exam in 2016, the writing section has now become optional. The test is evaluated over a total of 1600 points. The student can get 200 - 800 points from the literacy section and 800 points from the mathematics section.
